The next competition starts January, 2023
PPSDC holds five image competitions during its calendar year, normally on the second Tuesday of January, March, May, September and November. You are allowed up to four entries per competition, which will be scored on its own merits by a panel of judges. Each image will also receive comments from at least one judge to let you know the image’s good points and ways you can improve.
We encourage all members to participate and take advantage of this amazing opportunity to sharpen your photographic skills and improve your art. As daunting as it may seem for someone to judge your work, it provides you with insight in how to improve your images and increase your skill and confidence.
At each competition, images that receive a score of 80 or above receive a merit ribbon, and qualify for Best in Class and Best in Show ribbons. All scores are tallied for the fiscal year-end awards. There are Best of Category awards, as well as a top award for Photographer of the Year.
